Stony Brook Cohousing began its site search in 2006. In the winter of 2009 Stony Brook Cohousing leapt at an opportunity to turn the old Blessed Sacrament Church, 361 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, into our new home.
Located in the heart of historic Hyde Square, the former Blessed Sacrament Church will be reborn as Stony Brook Cohousing. In addition to 30+ housing units varying in size and price, there will be multiple common areas, outdoor greenspaces and a separate community facility for members of the Jamaica Plain community.
Our architects, Mostue & Associates, have already drafted preliminary designs seen throughout this site. Stony Brook IS moving forward to sign up new equity members to participate in the design of our community at this site.
